As Japan wunderkind Heavy1's album made the rounds throughout the drum&bass producer network last year, there was a lot of interest from some heavy-hitters in remixing multiple tunes from the LP, so the 'Minimalized Remixes' series was born.
The track-list features four very different and unique sounding interpretations of the original tracks, and something a little out of the box for us at Rubik. With remixes from the likes of Naibu, Sinistarr, Calculon & Austin Speed, and rounded out with a massive re-work from Stunna, the 'Minimalized Remixes Vol.1' showcases our flexibility to step outside the box and dabble into different BPMs. Not only some heart-pounding drum & bass reworks like Naibu's remix of 'Deep Train', but also drop it down low into the juke/footwork side of the spectrum in Sinistarr's monster flex on 'Fear The Satellites".
Rounded out by big, bold and booming remixes from Rubik head-honcho Calculon and new partner in crime, Austin Speed, as well as long-time Rubik home-team, Chicago's mighty DJ Stunna, this remix EP is something very special and different for us, and we truly hope people will expand their outlook of what this genre is really capable of.
